I have Windows XP, and every thing I have done can be seen. whenever I go online to fill in lets say my zip code, or email adress, or even the beginning words of a thread the computer brings up a list of everything. So my secretary will begin to type something and she can see the topics I started.

Also, how do I turn off this automatic update garbage that restarts my computer in the middle of the day? I dont see it anywhere on internet options or on the automatic update program.

any help is appreciated.
Paul

Also, by the back button on Internet Explorer, you can click the down arrow and see everywhere I have been. Believe me, no one needs to see that I have been on Pistonheads, especially when it shows the topics I started.

I think Safari has a 'private browsing' feature which prevents it from storing any of that data if you want to cover your tracks automatically.

Bear in mind that if you're at work none of this will prevent your IT department from seeing what you've been 'browsing' from the privacy of your corner office....

Tools>Internet Options>Content

There's a section on AutoComplete and a Settings button. Go in there and untick all.

Did this just now and the SETTINGS tab is greyed out.

Could it be an added feature from Google toolbar then?

Defo, I don't have google toolbar installed but it definately has this feature, are the forms that are being filled in getting coloured yellow as well, if so it's google toolbar, have a hunt around in its options you can turn it off, or just uninstall the toolbar.

To clear the history thats showing up in the drop-down next to the back button, go to tools options and select 'delete browsing history' assuming your on ie7, otherwise it's in tools > options.

To turn off auto-updates go to start > Control Panel > Automatic updates and you'll find some settings to turn it off.
