IP Telephones ! Easy to set up ?
Discussion
Guys
Just received an AAstra 480i Ip Telephone and am wondering if these are easy to set up and work via your home pc system ?
Ive read the Manual and its like another language !
Is it a case of plug and play so to speak ? or is there more to it ?
Im lost so any help would be great
Thanks in advance

Anyone on here had much experience in bolting on VOIP systems onto existing PBX systems?
I know Office Communications Server will allow it via a Media Gateway, but I was wondering if there are any other solutions: Jon Honeyball has been writing about his experiences with some free/cheap solutions with mixed success...

Assume it's a SIP phone, then yes it should be pretty trivial to configure.
I assume you want to use someone like Gradwell or Sipgate to provide your service rather than run your own VOIP server?
Im not sure where to go for a service provider ?I assume you want to use someone like Gradwell or Sipgate to provide your service rather than run your own VOIP server?
Who would you recommend?
If you use Sipgate for example, signing up for the account takes about 2 minutes, and they will then give you all the information you need to set the phone up (the phone probably has a web client if you point a browser at its IP address).
