I got a PC and a laptop, got itunes downloaded on both of them... just found out that to upload music off my laptop to my nano, I have to erase everything off my ipod that was uploaded from my PC and then upload off my laptop. I cannot upload from both PC and laptop...


anyway of getting around this???? This it sounds like a load bks really!

I think if you authorise both computers with the same account, you should be able to sync both of them with the ipod, (ie, sync from PC, then connect ipod, and it will copy stuff to other computer). You can then do whatever you want with both, if that makes any sense.

ye defo had done that, it says I have authorised 2 out of 5 including this one. all my itune downloads have moved across to this laptop, but my actual song from other downloadable sources are on two separate comps. I guess I could try and find a usb dongle thing to transfer across, but its a bit of a ball ache!

Surely, and I have done this myself, you just need to add everything that you want on your nano into an itunes account on either PC or Laptop, and sunc with nano. THEN when you plug said nano into other pc/lappy, it will say "You have tunes/porn/photo's, etc on this ipod that are not in your itunes account. Would you like to transfer them"... That's how it goes between my sisters macbook, and mine.

Could you explain exactly what it is you need to do? Is it just itunes libraries you are tring to sort out, or merely take one bunch of tunes from one, to the other?

Can you not just use nano as a hard drive, and use that to transfer anything to whichever computer needed the stuff?

well im new to all this itunes/ipod lark, and im probably being a 'tard, but I thought it would be pretty straight forward.

right, I have songs on my pc and songs on my laptop. I quite easily loads all the songs off the PC onto the nano via itunes/sync with no problem, and now im trying to sync my nano with my laptop as I have a load of albums on there. I have authorised the laptop so the PC and laptop are sorted there. But when I try to sync my laptop with the nano it says 'an ipod can only be sync'd with one itunes library at a time.... and sync'ing replaces its contents of the ipod with the contents of this itunes library'. The options it then gives me are 'erase and sync' and 'cancel'

So it is giving me no choice other than to replace all the music on my ipod with the music on my laptop and nothing else, or not load anything off my laptop and just keep what's on this!

I think I have found the problem... erm its gone a bit mental, and tells me that there is an error and must restore original settings.... hmmmmmmm

perhaps thats why it was giving me Gip!!!

If I were you I'd just transfer the music over to one PC, and add that to the library. I presume you are on a network, and have them sharing?

aha it seems to be playing ball, I have resptred everything, and uploaded from the PC, and it seems to my syncing correctly now I have restored the thing... Bloody technology... Im only 26 and this baffled me!!!

Perhaps it did have'5hit' in it, lol...

I did that, and synced it to the computer at work, but it won't actually let me move music or that sort of thing. Before I altered it I could 'see' the music on my Ipod, but not play it, or highlight it, now I can play it but there is no way it will let me 'manage' it.

Much better than cacky Itunes. When I got my Ipod a couple of years ago, I binned Itunes after a couple of days and started using Anapod Explorer. It does so much more, and does it better. But it's £15.
