I think one of my neighbours is using my broadband as sometimes i get really slow speeds. Due to the old lines where i live i can only get 1mb speed, but tonight it seemed a lot slower than usual, almost dial up slow.

I did a couple of online speed checks and it showed my download speed was 72kbs so i was right that is only slightly better than dial up. So is there a way i can see who is using my broadband connection?

For some reason i am unable to encrypt it, or rather i can, but one of the PC's in the house can't seem to get connected when it is encrypted. All the other PC's have no problem so i am doing all the fundamentals correct so i don't understand why i can't get one PC to work when it is encrypted. Which is why my connection is not encrypted.

So can anyone tell me how i can see who is using my connection?

I'm guessing that you want the Computers section first, and second that you're connecting into a router, which then goes to a modem or the two are combined?

What flavour is it?

Have a look at the QoS settings in the traffic shaping menu. I doubt someone else using your connection would put it down that far, even if they were battering it. Unless they have a hefty virus doing something weird

More likely you're being traffic shaped either at the router or ISP
