Probably worth a look. FWIW you're better off just binning norton and using something good

Thanks for that. I am such a computer numpty that I do not really know what else I should use, then I would have to install it which I would probably bugger up. Afraid I just tend to go with the easy option.Probably worth a look. FWIW you're better off just binning norton and using something good

When I had Norton on my old laptop it just told you when a virus had made it's way into your machine rather than sorting it out, completely useless IMO, I use the AVG free edition now, available from Downloads.com.
Is AVG good? How does it work if its free? How do they make any money? I must admit that I thought £60 for Norton 360 was rather expensive, hence my original question. AVG isn't bad, better than norton. Avast seems ok too.
Personally I don't tend to bother with an antivirus, install a few of them once a month just to make sure but I never have any nasties.
I just use adaware, spybot search and destroy and a good firewall and router setup, as well as adblocker in firefox and common sense when browsing / checking email

Nope sorry, School breaks up June 23rd and there are all sorts of interesting graduation evening 'events' the week before. However we'll all be over end of June for six weeks summer blighty fun (Pies Pints and Vette smoking). Will call to discuss some ideas for a getaway in July (we are thinking of camping in the Alps - want to come along?) If the Credit uncrunches may upgrade to a villa with a chef and maid. Or not.
