An everyday laptop....

Evening all,

I know this should be in the computer section but its a bit quiet in there at this time of the night. Mods - feel free to move after i've got a few answers if thats ok?

My sister is after a new laptop - it doesn't have to do anything special, access the net wirelessly, read and write cds/dvds, and a bit of word processing and thats about it.

15" or 17"

Less than £400 but ideally less than £350 and fairly "nice" looking. Apparently she wants silver rather than black but will compromise on colour rather than price.

Any suggestions? Reliability and things like that more important than performance,

Very good brand, decent specs, and the T7500 CPU is a pocket rocket, leaps and bounds better than celeron or pentium dual core. Don't think you can beat that for value for money imo.

Its a freeware office suite which is compatible with Microsoft products, works really well

I recently purchased a Toshiba Satelite L350-170 from Comet - it was £399 but they are now showing on their website at £379.99.

17" screen, dual core, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, silver finish. Vista Home Premium already installed.

Seems a pretty good machine so far, I've only had it for 5 weeks though.
