I've been with them a year. Apart from an initial problem (that turned out to be my fault) they're pretty OK. Never had a service interupt. The help desk are a bit numpty-ish, but what do you expect. I managed to get through to a proper techy with my problem, although they couldn't fix it. Turned out Mr. dumbarse here had inadvertantly plugged the broadband feed into a phoneline filter . So discounting that episode, no problems at all. We have line rental & unlimited broadband & phone call package.

I'm with them on 60Gb p/m usage allowance package, there fine as ISP's go, very honest about any problems and wont fob you off, there support is great.
It all depends on what service you need, Plusnet do slow speeds down on non priority traffic (priority = VOIP & Gaming etc) during peak hours, it say so on there site. Any big downloads I need go on overnight when there network is unrestricted and doesn't count toward usage allowance.
They were best value when I signed.

Rated 18th out of 29 broadband suppliers.
I am having a mare with them at the moment. I am told I am on an "old package" which is why they are charging me a 70% premium for a slower connection.Rated 18th out of 29 broadband suppliers.
I have tried to get them to upgrade me to ADSL2, but they are having problems managing this, and generally ignoring me.
Am thinking of moving away because of this.
I have been with them since the early days when they were top ranked. Since they've been bought out by BT they've slipped a bit but I generally have had no issues with them apart from getting them to spend days looking into a weird browsing issue that was traced back to my router that had a stroke. At least the support is all UK based which is a big 'plus' in my book.
They - well, Metronet, which is the same bunch - are massively gripping my st at the moment. They have a policy of restricting connection speed to 15kB/s between 4pm and midnight when you go over your monthly limit. I have not gone over my limit, but nevertheless they have put this restriction on my connection, came on at half two this afternoon and it's still on now, and their support response to me asking them to sort it out is a fking pile of useless wk.
Only reason I am staying with them is (a) they can be paid by post and (b) I can't tolerate the downtime of switching to someone else.

I've just signed up with them. The sign up process was good, I was kept well informed of progress and I've found their web site support better than some.
I'm still judging the speed I'm getting. It came online yesterday and speed is varying between 3 and 4.5 Mbps so far in a fairly rural area but with a small exchange pretty nearby.
I've gone for a 60GB package and no contract so I can change providers or cancel the service when I want.

Why is that important? ...They are still restricting my connection today and are still being arsewipes about it in the support system.
