Having had enough of their crap customer service at the biggest satalite tv provider its time to move on. What other providers are decent, have good customer servive and provide sky1 and sky sports.

Before this gets moved to the Computer forum all I can say is that, from my experience I never had a day's trouble with my overpriced BT BB which I only changed out of peak at the fact they never bothered to tell me I was paying double what I needed to for the same service.

Having changed I will most certainly be going back to them in 14 months (or less and counting) as the people who chat chat are utterly useless I have sadly found. It takes ages to get a connection (compared to instant) and can drop at any time. When using between 7pm and 1am there have been days when I have had to give up waiting for them to provide the service I am paying for and now I have started to log the issues each time so that when I get the hump again in the NY I stand a chance of being able to tell them to stick it and not have to buy out from my contract based on their repeated breaches of it.

The worst thing they did was a few weeks back when they cut off phone and BB for at least 24 hours. I had to call them at about 11:30pm to tell them this on my mobile. having told them what I had done to try to diagnose they shifted me to 3 different people who each got me to do the things I had done before I even called them and then shifted me a 4th time. After holding for 25 minutes I get fed up and hung up. When I called back I was given a recorded message to say they shut down at midnight - it was 12:20 by then so I know exactly what they did and am waiting for my mobile bill to add to the evidence I am going to be hitting me with.

It takes a lot to piss me off as much as they have done but they have reached the point where I can see me using the immortal line "Sue me, I dare you."

If you are in a cabled area, Virgin are probably your best bet. Unless you are in Hull.

If you know a Virgin employee, ask them if they can refer you for the friends of staff deal.

Neither. Use Sky at the moment.

So far in the past 6 months they have ...

fked up the hosue move and left us without phone and broadband for 6 weeks. We paid full price.

HD box went missing in the post but was apparently signed for by A CAR. I had a hell of a job telling them I am not A CAR and no A CAR lives at my address. Eventaully they relented and sent a new one out.

BT Engineer came to install the phone line he did it wrong; i told him this and he got the hump and left. 3 Weeks later a new engineer came, said the previous guy had did it wrong, he fixed it.

Broadband. After 7PM its pretty unusable, I might as well get the 56K modem out of the loft and use that.

I lost 6 series of family guy due to the hard drive fking up. IT took sky 3 weeks to get a new HD box out. This was after the A CAR incident.

After all my complaining I got 1 month free, this has yet it happen as they have again take their cash out of my account even after being promised a FREE MONTH!

So SKY can get fked in the Carlson household.

Edited for dodgy spelling
