So is anyone running iOS 9? I've just installed it on my iPad Air2 and so far I'm really impressed. The keyboard has slightly changed but I'm getting used to it but split screen working is really good and I'm really enjoying screen in screen watching a video whilst browsing pistonheads.

It's currently a beta so I expect some issues.

Just checked and it's not available on my iPad Air.

I then read your post again and you're running a beta so that answers why I can't have it yet!

For those wanting to see a preview http://www.apple.com/ios/ios9-preview/

So far the only app that doesn't work is virgin anytime but then it was a st app and TiVo isn't any better.

Thank you for sharing.

As for release date it will be September/October with a public beta available from next month.

I was surprised to see it is compatible with the iPhone 4S, thought they might drop that one.

I wasn't being that serious; the press on the other hand are making the multi tasking out to be the greatest thing ever, but it is nothing new, hasn't been implemented any better (it is surprisingly good on Win8.1).

I've yet to update my 4S to 8.3 (still on 8.2?), but was rather surprised about continuing 4S support. After the mild catastrophe of iOS7 (it wasn't good on the 4S), 8 is turning out to be pretty good. I'll probably wait a while to see how well 9 works on the 4S.

I'm debating updating my 4s this evening, current reports suggest a quicker experience and the aim from Apple is to improve battery life.

to somewhat hijack the thread, should I move from 6, yes I know, to 8.3 on my 32GB 4S? Will I suffer from speed issues? Or any other issues? I have held off and I know once it is done there is no going back unless I have a local copy to reload with.

Wow 6 to 8 that's a huge jump. Honestly I couldn't tell you as it's been so long that I wouldn't be able to tell you if it will speed things up or slow things down. However I'm quite happy with iOS8 and iOS9 certainly feels like a step in the right direction.

If you've held off this long I'd probably hold off some more.

iOS7 on the 4S was not a good experience; but iOS8 runs quite well on mine - although only on 8.2, haven't updated to 8.3.

From what I've read, the battery life improvements have not yet materialised on the iOS9 beta, but then it is a beta ...

I tried following those instructions, and now my 5S is fked. It couldn't complete the update (and yes, I did download the correct file), and my phone just displays the Connect to iTunes icon. My PC can see it, but attempting to restore to factory settings or my most recent backup gives "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)"

That's very strange. I have always used D7's links and procedures and never had a problem. I can't say I've tried my 5s on ios9 just my iPad air2

It's taken me five attempts at restoring from backup until it eventually sprang back in to life.

It's back on iOS 8.3 for now. I might give iOS 9 another go over the weekend.
