OnePlus 2 - Invites and chatter
Discussion
So, its finally here. Like the sad geek i am i watched the launch in VR. Apart from a lot of waffle to begin it was very impressive. Quite a shock that NFC has been removed and with that i assume touch payment but i can probably live with that.

The product video is here
Price reveal video is here. But its 239(16GB)and 289(64GB)
We had a thread about the OnePlus One for invites so i thought it would be good to start one for the 2. We had lots of invites given out in the old thread and its great to help out a fellow pher.
You can register for the waiting list here (and it helps me out
Once you have registered on the waiting list you can share you unique invite code to jump up the list. From what i have read it seems that clicks work so you can click on a link even if you are already on the list but i have not confirmed that. If someone knows feel free to correct me
To get an invites quicker than the reservation list you need to be a bit of a social media we, all the links are below.

In simple terms its as high spec / upto date as the Samsung S6 or HTC M9 but a few hundred quid cheaper. Its not better in real terms, just cheaper but while maintaining a high build quality (at least the original Oneplus One was well built).
It runs a relatively pure version of Android with very little bloatware which plagues Samsung devices in particular.
I think a lot of people get frustrated by their marketing techniques, especially the invite system but i think they had to make their mark in the Android world somehow.
In summary, Its just great value for a flagship smartphone

As per the other OPO thread ....

There's also an event in London on Friday afternoon, from 4-6pm, where you can come and experience it at first hand, meet the team, win invites, goodies, etc, etc.
The 1st 50 who register get a goodie bag

See you there, as I'll be there, where you'll be guaranteed to meet me

Really tempted by one of these, bought a OnePlus One for the wife earlier on in the year and it's a really nice phone, this looks even better.
Not long out of contract on my Galaxy S4, that phone has been okay but had it's ups and downs during ownership. Had odd Wi-Fi / data problems with it from day 1 where sometimes it will just not load anything off the Internet but a reboot later and all is fine. Sometimes putting it into flight mode and then back out is enough to get it going again. The other major issue was the Lolipop roll out. The first couple of releases that were pushed to me seemed very buggy and I had to factory reset the phone at one point to get things back to some semblance of normality. The latest version seems good though but doesn't say a lot for Samsung's testing, hence I'd be quite happy to move away from this brand.

I'd happily have one of these however I'm not convinced the new one is as good relatively speaking as the first one.
The OPO at the time had everything you'd want in a high end phone for a low price however things move on and it appears to be missing a few things that are now common, for example NFC, Wireless charging and quick charging.
I'd happily have one though, in fact I'd be happy with the original, in fact my Moto G still does all I need TBH.

I also get my invite on Friday
Awesome news mate. Is this helped by been an early adopter of the OPO? I'm still happy with my OPO but for the price of the OPT I will upgrade as soon as I get an invite So if anyone is going, I'll be easy to find as I'll be one checking everyone in. So don't be shy to say hello.
Might as well get my name virtually down on here, if anyone has an invite going at any point I'll be hugely grateful. I'm at 51,000 or so in the list of registered interest, so I don't think I'll have to wait so long for one to come my way. I'm expecting a month or two, but might be even less than that!
I'm really interested in the wood covers, how long the battery lasts and what the fingerprint scanner is like if anyone has one early or attends the launch in London on Friday. I'd love to attend, but I'm in Ireland at the mo.
That aside, I'm curious as to whether companies like Oneplus and Xiaomi will ever produce phones good enough and popular enough to force the likes of Samsung, LG and HTC to put their prices down? I doubt it, but I hope it.
