Currently running a Dell Desktop with XP and MS Office 2007, HP 2710 All in 1.
I leave my PC on continuously. Came to start work this morning and although the computer was on I couldn't get anything on screen. I turned it off via the tower switch and when turning back on it would start booting for a couple of seconds then stop and just show a cursor flashing in the top left hand corner of the screen.
Switched off again and pulled the 3 USB connections; Tom Tom, printer and ADSL line. Switched on again and it booted up. Towards the end of the boot it came up up with a serious error message detailing 2 "temp" problems. Closed it down via the Start menu.
On reconnection of the USB's for printer and ADSL again it would not boot up but just showed the cursor flashing. Switched of again and pulled the printer USB connection. Switched on again and it booted up fine.
So by process of illimination it appears the printer is having a bad hair day/blonde moment so what are the recomnedations.
Junk the printer and buy a new one.
Reload the HP software.
Stamp my feet and kick the cat.
