Body restoration mostly, but refreshing all of the suspension, brakes and anything else that needs doing to make it reliable. It's in very good condition really, the interior is superb, leather completely unmarked, headlining very clean etc. 103k miles on it and FMBSH to 95,000 mls.
So it's either going to be painted gold as original, black because I like it, or heaven forbid if I grow a pair I might go all the way and copy the red pig at least cosmetically (it's quick enough anyway) and get it FIA approved etc.

Rashman your over here mate! got to tell the guys here, that Rashmans car needs to be seen to be believed, its cleaner than when it came out of the factory! its a story in itself to the way he looks after it.
Ricky, my boy!!!lol....How the devil are you?!
It was great seeing you again the other night. Your surprise appearance was much appreciated by all of us!
Thanks for posting such kind words about my car.
....but go steady... you'll have people keen to find faults in my baby!!
Hahaha
See you soon buddy!

Haha, thanks Rashman! Yeah, the furthest away and quietest corner of a Nottingham car park at night.. must have looked dodgy!
Thanks for the comments about the car, I'm slowly doing little jobs to it here and there to keep it looking as fresh and original as I can.

You're doing well to keep it looking good. Keep it up.
Condition is everything.
I find once you get every part of the car spotless, it's just a case of keeping on top of the detailing, cleaning areas reguarly. This also makes the process alot easier each time, as apposed to leaving it until you have chaos amounts of build-up to remove.
I spent a few hours in the garage myself.
I gave the engine bay a going over.
I went to the Duxford event yesterday.
I knew it would be a hot day with the cars sitting in the sun all day.
So, the day before, I treated all the interior trim and dash, exterior plastics & rubbers and also fed the leathers to prevent any of these areas getting dried out.
All it takes is regular maintenance and your car will stay looking new.

But yeah, I couldn't agree more. My S Class is a fair way off the condition of your CLK (absolutely stunning car btw), but I'm trying to follow a similar level of care in the hope of preventing the car from heading towards the big scrap yard in the sky, something which seems to be happening far too often with W140s around my cars age. Here's a couple of interior shots from not long after I bought the car..

Well done!
Are those little TV screens I see up there above the front seats?
Regular maintenance when needed and fluid changes should keep your car in good order.
When I first got my 63, I dropped all the fluids - engine, coolant, brake and even the transmission fluid (Mercedes reckon the tranny fluid should be changed at around 34,000 miles, but I did it at around 9,000 just so that I knew it was nice and fresh).
My oil changes are averaging at about every 1500 miles. Some might say that's abit too regularly, but there's nothing wrong with giving her some fresh blood, that's what I say! haha
I'm also very glad to have a garage for it too.
I feel for you not being able to garage yours, as keeping a car away from the wet, the sun and the extreme cold makes all the difference too.
Thanks for your kind words about my 63. I love this car and will always look after it.
I'm abit of an extremist when it comes to car care I'm afraid... perhaps even alittle OCD about it - lol!
I'm also lucky enough not to need to drive it during the week, which also helps me keep it nice and fresh.

That's one very smart garage, infact, the building itself looks like my ideal house... just enough room to sleep and lots of garage space haha.
The fold down jobbies in my car are just mirrors, there's an interesting reflection going off in the pic though which does make them look like TVs!
Nice work with the fluid changes, we've got two AMG powered Crossfires and we particularly try to keep those regularly checked with them being higher performance motors compared with the S-Class.
Keep up the good work!
