C220 Coupe.....

My son's looking for a diesel, told no way is he having a frenchy on the drive.
Looking at C220 coupe, budget up to about 3k.
Only ever had Jap cars, never owned a Merc, after any pointers in what to look for etc.
New job, 60 mile round trip means he's got to sell his Soarer.

Mrs Seeker has one of these and it's been a very good purchase but most C220CDI coupes < £3k will be very leggy (if you can find one).

Don't discount the C180k though - once you take the price differential between petrol & diesel, the ownership costs will be very similar and you're more likely to find a petrol model in budget.

cheers, i think it's going to be a diesel. (cheaper insurance)
not to worried about high miles as long as it's got a good service history.
We do our own spanner work so that helps.
