Some very tempting looking leaseing deals seem to be advertised for the C63 amg......

Best I have seen is on www.contracthireandleasing.com, where a 2 year lease is advertised at £503 + vat on a 6+23 profile....

Does anyone have experience of leaing said car, or any other helpful takes on c63 'ownership'

Must say, Im sooo tempted.....

We leased a ML320 through Skyfleet recently - their customer service was great.

Much as the C63 is a great car, what I would urge caution with is the lease. Our ML was cherished had only covered 16000 miles against a 25000 allowance and was totally mint when it was collected yet weeks later we still received a bill from Mercedes for approx £1500! We sent off a very snotty email detailing our own version of the car's condition and I was quite happy to sue them in the small claims court if necessary. Have just found out today that they have cancelled the bill (as a goodwill gesture!)but I would still be very nervous about leasing a Merc again - if you search the web you will find plenty of other similar cases. I imagine on a C63 they could come up with some huge bills if they were unhappy with the condition on return.

Nick,

How did you manage that. MB Finance are pursuing me for a similar amount for my old car and dont seem to want to leave it. I coughed up for a few items that I felt were fair enough, but we are now going to arbitration.

Nick, you have me worried. Have sent two Volvos V70 back with no charges except excess miles are MB really that bad? Just taken E250 Sport direct from them.

And the lesson is .......

when you see "cheap" leasing deals their is normally a catch. Some leasing companies have much stricter return standards and will charge for what at times may appear to be relatively minor problems. Always check the return policy before ordering.

A base C63 AMG is £53k. If you pay £600 x 41 payments the total you have paid will be £24,600. A very tight margin for the lease company especially with the current funding costs albeit their will be substantial "support" from Mercedes.

From my experience also, many peoples idea of "minor" damage at the end of the lease is somewhat optimistic. We have had cars with wing mirror's painted a different colour to the car, holes in carpets and seats, alloy wheels that had more craters then the moon and cars with dents on every panel- and yet the customers seemed to think the items were minor and could not understand why we had to make some charges!

Pb1965 - not sure if it's the lease co or MB - I noticed that Kelvin McKenzie (writes in the Sun) had a similar issue a few months ago. I have every sympathy with the lease companies/MB - I can imagine that some people take the mickey when they return cars. I was particularly incensed because I have always cherished my cars (company or personally owned ones). The ML had a small number of scratches that I had repaired at a reputable bodyshop before we returned it - the vehicle had comepleted only 16000 miles against an allowance of 25000. The car was MINT. Interstingly the three young lads that collected it spent amost an hour checking the car over - they said it all looked fine but would not sign it off because it was wet (had been raining prior to collection). My bet is that MB outsource collection to another company who are incentivised to find as many problems as they can.
SimNugget - good luck - all I can say is that I had plenty of my own evidence e.g. photos etc of the car plus a certificate from National Tyres re the condition of the rubber - MB were trying to see that a new tyre was needed when clearly it wasn't.
Laner - the only foolproof method I have been told about is to get an independent inspection of your own signed off before the car is returned to MB. I never saw the small print of the contract but it wouldn't surprise me if there is no specific allowance for any wear and tear on return of the vehicle.
As usual - do your own thing and good luck.
