I must admit the first thing I noticed was the f*****g huge V12 engine under the bonnet rather than the finer points of its aircon

It's very expensive!

I shudder to think of the heat-soak issues from the V12. IIRC the firewall on the 500E had to be majorly adapted to cope with a V8 it was never designed to accommodate. God only knows where they found the space to slot in a V12!!
