Personal Contract Hire - Servicing Question
Discussion
Hi all,
Quick question... does anyone know the T&C's from MBFS with regard to servicing a car before the end of the contract hire period?
I am pretty sure that if the car is within 30 days of a service it needs to be serviced before returning?
What if it is greater than 30 days?
I am considering ending my lease 1 month early so it will be around 50-60 days until it needs a service and just want to check.
I can't find my contract anywhere so thanks in advance!

It depends on you contact:
1. Contract Lease - No get out, pay remaining monthly fees
2. PCP / PH - Get a settlement figure, if in equity you can px, if not you can VT (Voluntary Terminate if over 50% term (HP) or 50% owed (PCP) - in this case speak to a dealer
Note that MB FS are BarStewards for penalising for damage, so fix yourself and double check your contract.

Just my experience of handing back an SLK after a 24-month PCP. Car registered around 20th December 2011. First service done in Jan 2013. It went back to MBFS in December 2013 with something like 11 days before 2nd service due. MBFS cofirmed to me that as long as the service wasn't overdue it didn't need 2nd service. I didn't service it and wasn't penalised.
I had no difficulties with the BCA guys when they came to appraise it and then collect it. Guys were VERY fair with wear and tear. I had kerbed alloys and shopping trolley dints larger than those described as acceptable in the MBFS booklet. No excess charge and a nice letter from MBFS afterwards for having returned it in such great condition!

My car is Personal Contract Lease and not PCP so I wonder if there is a difference on the servicing...?
Hello all,
I gave back my previous SLK250CDi in May - I gave it back several weeks early as it was nagging about needing a "B" service which is £500 for an oil change and compulsory brake fluid change
It was on Merc Agility and you are allowed to go up to 500 miles or 30 days past the service due - they got mine back on about 470 miles over. No problems.
With regard to damage - I had no dings or scratches, a few small stonechips. However I also had a cracked DRL and all four wheels kerbed However a bit of haggling and moaning got them down to £150. Happy days. More than fair, I thought.
(Doing a lot better with the replacement SLK - it's got Bridgestones with a nice rim protector )

Just seen this thread as I'm in the same prediciment. My C63 goes back a week on Friday and the OBC is showing a service due in 25 days time. Looks like I'll be okay then.
Anyone know the deal regarding VED? I'm planning on having it collected on 29th Aug with the tax due to expire on 31st Aug...

As long as the VED hasn't expired you are fine. Anyone know the deal regarding VED? I'm planning on having it collected on 29th Aug with the tax due to expire on 31st Aug...
