Having recently divorced myself from the Porsche fold (dealers attitude / politics, unable to buy any car you might want etc) and promising to wait until the current spike in used values calms down before looking for a replacement.....I'm now finding myself seriously lusting after an AMG GT-R (2017/18 car).
After some digging around I now know what ideal spec I would be looking for (Premium, ceramic brakes, track pack, carbon interior and carbon pack 1 or 2 exterior) but the current values all seem very strong especially with 10-16 months ago. Most low mileage attractive spec cars are up around £120-£125k which from my memory is a good £20k higher than they were.
Appreciate that none of us have a crystal ball but where do we think todays £120k GT-R will be in 12 / 24 months time - level, up or down? I have no issue with some depreciation but slightly anxious at the £20k recent increases being wiped out overnight.

Any other guidance / owners tips on the cars most welcome.

Cheers, Chris

I've noticed the same.

Romans did a good walk around / buyers guide video of the GTR and the example they had was a fantastic spec that at the time was up for £110K. It would be about £130K at least now.

I think they're very underrated cars and unlikely to fall very much.
Romans buying guide video was an addictive watch (about 8 times…!). GT3 RS equivalent at a more realistic price point, rarer and the NOISE!

Thanks for the replies guys - much appreciated.

I decided as much as I love the Magno Green (epic in the flesh) it was just too shouty for me. So Silver was the preference and I've found a car, massive spec - collecting on Friday! Pics to follow

With the thread being resurrected I realised that I hadn't posted up any pics of the GT-R that I bought last September...

Found a stunning low mileage fully spec'd car in Magno Silver with full PPF from new, had all my must-have options plus a load more I would never have considered - must be one of the highest spec cars in the UK. Matt Magno silver, carbon packs 1 & 2, carbon interior & door sills, track pack including harnesses (never fitted), extinguisher and body coloured cage, upgraded high end Burmester stereo, carbon brakes and the much better looking RXC forged alloy wheels. In fact the only thing its really missing is the carbon engine cover which you can't see anyway!

7 months in and I'm still very smitten - love everything about it. Performance is fantastic, the engine and gearbox are both wonderful and its various modes allow you to waft along or feel like you're on a qualifying lap. Yes, the suspension is on the firm side but so far never in the realms of undrivable. The Cup 2 tyres are great once you get some heat into them but awful in very cold weather so it sat in the garage from November to February. Car is universally liked and has such road presence - unlike any previous cars I've owned. Sounds epic and never fails to make me smile. The performance is staggering and the way it accelerates from 80, 90, 100+ is unbelievable, it just keeps pulling.

Values wise I don't think they have shifted much since I bought it, maybe they are even slightly up. The good spec cars sell quickly whilst the lower spec cars with higher miles seem to hang around with some still on the market from when I was looking last September.

My advice if you're considering one is stop thinking about it and go buy one!

I have a first edition V6 Lotus Emira arriving in June - owning the GT-R now, I don't think the Lotus will be staying for long!

I hadn’t realised people were doing deals at £100k!

I think even with the foibles I’d had with it I’d have pounced on it at that price.
The least I could get any of the ones I liked down to was £120k and they were not mega spec
I haven’t seen a single car I would want to be own at anywhere near £100k - nice dream but far from reality.
Mine was a smidge over £120k and think it would likely fetch closer to £130k now if advertised by Romans or similar. All in the spec, colour & desirability
