I adore everything about it , apart from what it's like on the juice...struggling to break free of 23mpg
The pay back for me is enormous, cos it's gorgeous
My wife's car is Guilietta 14.TB Veloce.... so not a bad driveway to walk out onto in the morning
Pretty amazing driveway if you ask me, two stunning motors. Is it the V6 Brera you have? The pay back for me is enormous, cos it's gorgeous

I thought the same thing but after viewing and turning down four Brera S 2.2s, I dropped on a 3.2 in my preferred colour of black. Keep searching and one will come up.
What put you off the 2.2? Just lack of power or noise? Or am I right in thinking you have posted about this somewhere else and you encountered 4 all in various stages of decline?Benzo26 said:

A combination of both. The four 2.2s were, in order: 1. Low mileage but tatty; 2. A non-Prodrive S (despite what the main dealer advertised; 3. Low mileage, HPI clear but no history and a few question marks over various things; 4. High mileage, very tidy but reminded me of something that I had doubts about all along - that despite the condition, the 2.2 engined cars didn't offer enough for me to trade in my GT 1.9 JTDm which by comparison, felt sharper, quicker, and generally more fun.

Thanks for the response, always great to get feedback from owners and thoughts on each engine. The 3.2 is thirsty but the sound and power of the V6 outweighs the extra fuel consumption. Plus, I don't do many miles.

Very nice. I drove a 1.8 156 TS today. It's basically a FIAT and it shows. It does everything a daily drive sedan should do but it so lacks the 60s-70s-80s Alfa magic. At low speeds the engine is OK but the setup is not happy with speed bumps and bad roads. On the highway and above 70 mph the car comes alive. The mid-range torque combined with the steering feel and pointy nose are a treat. When a Mondeo or Passat are not for you the smaller 156 could be a choice.
A few years ago I had a 2 litre 156 and a last of the line full specced 156 TS in my hands. Great cars and today they are up for grabs but they're no match for a period Beemer 3 series. The 159 is too Audi-ish for me.
A 75 really is the last of the real Alfa's.
I lust for a 1972-1983 4-door Alfetta 1.8 or 2000 (type 116):

Liking the model with the 4 round lights.

Those wheels are just silly big, the standard 16" fit the car so much better.
19"! Point taken, although ill admit they looked good in the flesh.2. Have it finnessed by the man who turned the Delta from tinny hatchback to WRC legend
3. Stick on some big massive wheels because of bling
Think I'll stop at step 2.
