Shell inner bracing added and new floor pans installed, we looked at Carbon doors but in the end JH was not keen as its difficult to tweak a carbon door if it doesn't fit and the budget this would save could be left for other parts......however in the theme of reducing weight where we can, I sourced a later set of doors in good overall condition to be re skinned, the early doors had a very mechanical opening mechanism which was like a set of big steel scissors and heavy...the later doors are the same physically but use a cable arrangement to open and close the widows so lighter + removing the door skin also gets rid of a large Alfa Romeo period sound deadening stuck to the inside face - so double win. The last job will be to fill in the handle apertures so we can fit the GTA style - more on this later

Yep heard that mine is perfect under all the grime, its been completely stripped now and the aluminium casing has been aqua-blasted looks a treat.200Plus Club said:

Continuing the steering box theme here's on of the first rebuilt parts ready for when the shell is completed, along with getting the main aluminium body aqua-blasted all the steel external items have been plated and the main shaft support tube powder coated.
There is a steering idler unit which sits on the opposite inner chassis rail which will get the same treatment, more updates to follow.......

Is your car still in Aus ? looks like its in good company is that a Shelby /GT Mustang in the background ? what plans have you got for yours ?

Few more parts back from aqua blasting the original Veloce diff crown wheel an pinion gear are being treated to an AH plate LSD and the whole lot is being installed with new bearings, seals + drive shaft bearings - these works will be carried out by Charlie Skinner at Cloverleaf in Cumbria
