For fans of the Alfetta GTVs, here are some decent pictures of what is to me the best looking of the lot: the limited run GTV6 3.0
I stumbled across the site hosting these on the net and thought they might be appreciated here too. They are some of the best quality pictures I have found of this model.
A brief history for those not familiar with the car, it was produced by Alfa Romeo South Africa to compete in the local Group One racing category, in which the 2.5l regular GTV6 needed more power to compete with the BMW 535i.
The car uses the downdraught carb setup from the Alfa Six and needed a bigger bulge to clear the airbox. The bonnet, complete with its bigger bulge, non functional NACA duct combined with the split rim wheels and lowered suspension to inject some aggression into the shape.
Just over 200 were made.
