Gone quiet round here after that! Shame theres no more coverage till early hours for about half an hour, then 8 am, perhaps we'll have to rethink our boycott of France and go again next year!

How fast do you think a vette can go!!!! Don't want the same fine as last year, hence the boycott, shame though as its only us we're hurting as they'll catch plenty of other 'innocent' brits!

If he'd been wearing a German uniform, they wouldn't have stopped him. He he. Just kidding.

did they actually see the detector? how come they stopped him?
Authorities just banned radar detectors here in Spain too, :-(

Hi Jordi - Is the ban on having one, using one or both?
In the UK I think it used to be that it was only illegal to use one, ownership was legal. However now, I understand usage is not illegal.

Havuing and operating a radar detector in the UK has never been illegal. Having a radar jammer is.

I've heard stories of the police after pulling a car over, seeing the tell tale marks left on the windowscreen, searching the car for the offending item
(normally quickly chucked under the seat) then confiscating it

Further info, it was £750.00!! You probably won't know the guy, Alex Boddy, he is a customer of ours.
Spoke to Nigel last night and he said the police were very hot on speeding and especially the use of radar detectors this year with an on the spot 1000.00Euro fine if you were nicked with one in the car, didn't even have to be connected!!
