Filled up at the petrol station, pulled away fine and got on to a bit of dual carrigeway (nice & fast as I had a full tank), after 3 miles got on to a slow road, and had a High Tyre Pressure again, which made me look at the display and there was !Brake! on....

It was pretty dire to begin with in terms of locking the wheels, but now I have to pull it quite far up to make it hold the car in drive, etc.. (Its an auto C5 BTW)

Is this the norm with the handbrake or has my little forgetfullness gonna cost??

Oops - this is going to cost you about £150 to have it adjusted. I hope there is no permanent damage. Good luck with this, Mark.
Will you be at Billing???

I'd forgotten about this one, I'm off to kit car show on Sunday so could go on Saturday. Anyone else going? Perhaps post this somewhere else?

I had to take my 2001 to Frosts as it was under warranty and I asked them adjust the handbrake one day. Big mistake as I used it very rarely and only then to stop it siezing up. Steve paid about the same at another dealer.

Regarding your fixed price of £45, I was wondering how much for cash ................

I need to get it serviced before its 3yrs are up, so I am going to take it to BM for a once-over and see what they can do about the fuel gauge, etc.... Will ask them on the handbrake and see what they come up with on that.

Geoff, would you be able to take a look at it if BM are asking silly money?

Tks alot

I'm not sure what it is about the C5 handbrake. During my tour of Italy I discovered that my handbrake would hold quite happily with the car facing uphill, but wouldn't at all when facing downhill.

I couldn't park in one place I wanted to as it wouldn't even hold against compression in 1st gear !

I may investigate further this weekend and will let you know the results.

As gmscoverage is in Reading and Geoff is only about 30 miles away, it will save you about 2 tanks of fuel (£100) just for starters compared with BM.

I generally service my cars myself but assuming it needs a major service, what's the cost as Reading is probably my best bet too as no way am I going to Arriva in Bristol.
