Importing a c5 or ZO6 query?
Discussion
Hi, can anybody provide me with a copy or a scan of the emissions standards directorate 70/220/EEC or amended directive 2001/1EC, Euro3/4 paperwork. I think it's a part of the EEC Certificate of Conformity documentation.
I haven't actually seen this before but I think it's required when bringing a car into the UK. Thanks.

Don't need it for American imports. The SVA includes an emissions test and a catalyst test. Remember that American cars are LHD and thus qualify for the SVA test and NOT the Enhanced SVA. The car will fly the emissions test because the American emissions are very low anyway.
The certificate of conformity I believe relates to cars imported from Europe which show the car conforms to a similar recognised standard in the country of origin. So a type approved Corvette in Germany would be mutually recognised as conforming to UK SVA standards. This means the car doesn't have to pass a UK SVA test but has to be inspected at an SVA centre to ensure it's still the same car so to speak.

Thanks Lus1fer,
I'm trying to locate this info to enable a vette or engine to be exported from the UK without any paperwork problems. I take your point on board but where would this info be held? Somebody must be sitting on a very large book of rules and regs Would this info be held at an SVA centre? Where else could I look?

This is the SVA manual for imported cars.

You need Acrobat to read it and it doesn't look much on the screen but it's 178 pages so if you print it out, use someone else's printer..
Not quite sure about exporting from the UK - the car would have to be approved at the receiving end. Exporting a car from the UK is just filling in the logbook to advise the DVLA the car is being exported and sticking it on a ship isn't it?

LuS1fer,,
Wow, plenty to read there. Thanks for that. I'm considering exporting some engines but the receiver needs to be sure they can be used in his EEC country. Isn't there going to be a directory/manual of cars/engines that comply with EEC regs or is it as you suggest, they will have to pass an emmissions test upon arrival?
Oh, that blue is stunning
