Well its finally out the bag, Spud took 'Skunk' recently modded by DC Performance in LA across from VOI to Nevada to compete in the Silverstate Shootout, part of the big Silver State Classic weekend

And succesfully competed and won the cup !
The Shootout was supposed by a standing start one mile sprint, but was cut to .5 mile due to 45mph cross winds. Although Spud did get in a one mile practice run earlier.

Skunk looks very stealthy

and was totally under-estimated by the other competitors including a japanese team 15 guys strong, running a tweaked 350Z

Not bad for a 900+ bhp !!! road car driven to the event and then driven back to LA, apprantly averaging around 20mpg on the return journey to !! sweet.

Congrats and well done DC Performance and Joel

You should be in tears that blue and white is no longer the fastest colour.

900bhp? That's gotta be at TOTB4.

You must need some serious seats at those sorta speeds.

No Viper should go without a sack of potatoes in the trunk....highly recommended for breakfast.

Thanks to everyone, this result has been a real boost for me, sort of a reward for all the hard earned money I've spent and compensation for missing TOTB.

I hope your car really splats the Japs stuff at TOTB next year.A Viper with 1000+ at the engine can blow our car away anytime even if its Pink with Greens strips!I think your better off without our seats Joel as the G-Forces you must be under would crush our ones, you must be straped into Titanium Seats and breath with a Iron Lung or wear one of them G-Suits...Right?...I still can,t believe your went and did it!!Your Mad...Bankrupt...or Both!(I never knew you wanted to whip my butt so badly!)

Hey jet-set Spud, why dont you send a team of your minions down to NZ to built a 1/4 mile strip ?
Then the 'Air Spud' stripped out 747 with Skunk in the back could be diverted down to NZ for a weekend, so you can whip VENOM's butt

Holy cow!!! Well done Joel - that's my type of car, all that power and a stealthy appearance. Would like to see it at the 'ring next year?

Can't wait to see it in the flesh

Times please...you won the cup, but no times

Well done Joel! From a fellow modder, I know the frustrations (boy do I know), but it is all worth it in the end. Can't wait to beat you at TOTB IV.....

As far as I know, these times reflect the average speed over the half mile starting from a standstill

1. Skunk #501 at 148.8 mph
2. Orange Nissan 350Z (Japanese team) #190 at 142.2 mph
3. Yellow Z06 #303 at 132.4 mph
4. Black Mustang #260 at 130.7 mph
5. Gray Mustang #276 at 130.5 mph
6. Blue '96 GTS #183 at 128.2 mph
7. Mercedes E55 #172 at 127.1 mph
8. ? car #246 at 125.4 mph
9. Black Vette #346 at 124.0 mph
10. Silever Vette # 161 at 123.6 mph

The 350z was the Jun car. I'm glad to have beaten it.
At the altitude of this event, 6400ft, quite a bit of power is lost. Skunk still felt very strong, but having sat in the passenger seat at sea level, the acceleration is literally breathtaking.

potatoes are far to valuable, never be a passenger when Spud is doing a top speed run !
