just received one of these from Ultimate Finish (I buy all my detailing gear from them because imo they are the best)

jesus, its a big and heavy beast

I have quite hard water here in North Notts

I have an old DF Peerless twin water filter (recharged by soaking cartridge in very strong saline solution) - I checked my water before ordering

straight from the 'tap'- 270 ppm

through the old Peerless filter - 100ppm

so by using the old Peerless filter before the Aqua Gleam I should get a good 'life' from the 0ppm filter

i'll post results

Just started testing mine myself after winning a load of gear from Ultimate Finish at Christmas biggrin. Not sure how it will last in London without a pre filter but it made a massive difference! I didn't even dry the car and could only detect a couple of marks on some glass and chrome trim on my father in laws Galaxy.

I used one a couple of years ago in Hertfordshire, it was pretty good but expensive when compared to the race Glaze Maxi Filter.

the large one should be considerably cheaper per wash

a) standard 350 x 100mm - £57.95

b) large 800 x 100mm - £89.95

all prices include free delivery

can the aqua gleam be regenerating, it doesn't seem like it can, which makes it a bit steep at £60, but if it could be regenerated i might get one

No, once the crystals have fully changed in colour it is time to buy a new one....give or take 20 litres.

bearing in mind the large filter does approx. 2.5 times more 'rinses' than the standard size

using my Peerless filter as a pre filter that means I should get in the order of 125 rinses - so less than £1 each and should last two years at one wash/week!
