How to clean sump after welding?
Discussion
It doesn't come apart it's all welded as one piece.
I have jet washed it, then, ahem, put it in the dishwasher ( I hope she doesn't read that)
And have been washing out with petrol and filtering the petrol
To see how much is coming out, must have flushed it 40 times
And still finding bits in there!

Slosh out with Cellulose Thinners/Gun wash (the cheap one) its highly flammable mind and don't inhale the fumes trust me its good st also have to hand an air line/blow jet to blow out the little shards/swarf and you will have a nice oil/grease free spotless sump before you know it you can leave to soak too for best results fill up to or above the baffles 5 litres should do ya if you filter it after you can use it to clean/degrease other bits and pieces but keep it away from plastics & rubber

Assuming the swarf is alluminium you don't need to worry too much. Anything big will get caught in the oil pick up strainer, anything smaller will go through the oil pump and get caught in the main filter. As it's ally going through the steel pump gears shouldn't be too much of an issue. Get it clean as you can, then get it rebuilt!
