Merc SL 129 14mm hex key 1.25l

I've not climbed under the car yet to look @ the access. Some online notes suggested a pump, I like to have everything ready to avoid wasted time so thought of the spare eezibleed thingy to pump the new oil up.

I think it will be okay, using just my lungs I can move the oil.
The car has always been main dealer serviced. I doubt the diff oil has ever been changed, so 19yrs and 100,000 miles I thought it may be a good idea.

No the eezibleed thing is a bottle that you pressurize from a spare tyre. I tried it with lung power just to make sure it worked. The only thing is the bottle is only about 3-400ml so will take a few refills. smile

Make sure you can undo the fill up bolt before you drain the diff... Also, i tend to use a funnel in some garden hose and let gravity do the work. Lastly, make sure you have a new seal ( normally a copper washer ). PS Nice car!

I can't speak for Mercedes but I work for Lexus and diff oil is changed every other service, so every 2 years or 20k miles.

Check the service items and take it from there would be my advice
