not cheap but also not costing me the earth.

I have a DAS-6 Dual Action Polisher which has been great BUt is rather limp wristed and slow.

I wish to be able to use this for polishing but also buffing with a cutting compound after spraying bodywork I seem more and more often doing

Any suggestions. you seem to have the £250 3M all singing or the Silverline one's from £55.

What do you recommend. I'm thinking a budget of between £50-150.

I bought a silverline some years ago and used it quite hard for a few weeks buffing out gelcoat and it held up well. If its for pro work then i would probably look elsewhere but for the average diyer it would be fine.

DAS 6 Pro is 850W vs DAS 6 at 500W. Obviously you have the rotary's like the 3M but the Rupes Bigfoot is supposed to be the best of both worlds (bit pricey though).

Ive had a megs 220 for years. It gave up the ghost part way though detailing a mates RS1600i. I borrowed a silver line rotary and then ordered the next day. So much quicker. A bit heavier to use as ways to bite and pull but I cant see how a one twice the price could be better imo

I have the Silverline, it's pretty heavy but other than that it's great for the money. I just got a Rupes Bigfoot but if I was going to stay with rotary permanently I'd look at a Flex there's a few good deals going round on these at the moment for around £250 http://www.mainzcarcare.co.uk/polishing-prep-and-w...

Before you go rotary have a look the pad and polish compounds you are using. A DA will give the same correction and in a quicker timeframe depending on your pads and polish.

What about the Dodo Juice - Spin Doctor rotary? Still looking but really would like to keep the price down.

Yes the Flex etc.. Sounds good but too expensive
