There are some excellent deals available on Leaf at the moment which I thought might be of interest to users on this forum. The deals are based on cars delivered before the end of this month, so you would need to be quick.

I ordered my car yesterday and delivery is in 2 weeks, so there is still time.

I was originally looking for a deal based on £500 deposit and £150 / month based on a 2 year PCP deal.

In the end I decided to increase my deposit in order to reduce the total cost of the 2 years of the agreement (I think it saved around £100 in interest).

Deposit = £1800
Rental = £95.78 x 24
Total payable for 2 years = £4098.72

This is based on 6000 miles, buy/buy, 3.3kw Tekna, flame red. There was no other admin fees on this deal e.g. no £150 at the start of the end.

The Tekna, for people not familiar, is the highest specification version of the Leaf. It comes with leather, sat nav, bose stereo, all round camera, heated heats and steering wheel etc. Basically it is a nice spec car.

The dealer I chose was Matt @ Shepperton, WLMG, who was excellent. However, most of the dealers I spoke with could do similar deals.

I am using NuWorld energy for the home charger as they can install a 32a charger but with a tethered Type 1 cable paid by the OLEV grant.

At the end of the 2 years, I will just hand the car back.

Does that monthly price include the battery rental?

Would you have saved much going for an Acenta?

The deal is based on a "buy/buy" which is Nissan speak for saying the battery isn't rented and is 'purchased' at the same time as the car (albeit that the car is still being financed).

So, the total price you pay, for 2 years use of the car, based on 6000 miles per year is £4098.72.

The Acenta is a bit cheaper, but I wasn't interested in that spec of car; I was only interested in the Tekna.

Honestly, this deal is in my opinion brilliant. The true depreciation cost of the car is much higher than the total ownership cost, because Nissan are underwriting the value to a large degree, to help get them registered.

If you convert the price I paid into an equivalent £500 deposit + monthly payment, it is equal to £500 + £150 / month on a 2 year deal. This is similar to the best Zoe deals from December last year, but the Leaf is a more expensive car with more equipment.

The deal on my leaf I've just picked up was £230 per month with £0 deposit/arrangement fee on a Tekna, non-flex, 10,000 miles, colour flame red(no cost option). Total cost £5520...

Sales guy mentioned they had to shift another 4 leafs before the end of March to avoid a big hit on their overall dealership bonus. Thus suspect as above you'll be able to get better deals than I did :-(

I think with these type of niche cars, the deals are definitely better as you get to the crunch time of each quarter.

I had a dealer mention their quarterly bonus from Nissan was worth £140k, and if they didn't hit the Leaf numbers, they wouldn't get anything. Whether this is quite true or not I don't know, but it does partly explain the strange deals at the end of the quarter (rather like the deal on the Twizy which is mention on another thread).

Personally, I think the price you have paid at £230 / month with no deposit is still a very good deal for a Tekna spec Leaf.

I worked on the basis that, once you factor in the free home charger and the reduced petrol cost, it is an ideal car for the school run type of driving.

Well you guys have certainly messed me up because I thought I was being offered descent prices here in Somerset, but now I'm not so sure!
I'm after 2 of them as well, so if any dealers are needing to shift another two before the end of this quarter, drop me a pm.

I would suggest calling Ben at Bristol Street Motors / Derby on 01332 375360.

Ben was happy to deliver the car to my door from Derby to West London at no cost, which might be useful to you in Somerset.

I used Matt at WLMG in Shepperton who is very good. His number is 01932 237144

If nothing else, it gives you some leverage with your existing dealer, to see what they are competing against.

It certainly is. Many thanks. I've just emailed my local dealer about this to see if they can do such a deal

Everyones coming out of the woodwork now!
Matts deal is certainly one of the best out there.
Howards of WSM and JFE of Exeter have offered Tekna with Mett paint on 6000 miles/PA for £1600 deposit and 24 months £150
Matt over in London as per the Ops initial post is trying to get the same deal as the Ops but with Mett paint and 8000 miles/PA so payments will probably be closer to the £125 mark with £2k deposit.
We shall wait and see as hopefully I want this wrapped up by the end of play tomorrow.

So that will be 2x EV's offsetting the carbon footprint of the Cerbera, reckon thats enough? biggrin

Excellent news! Sounds like you are well on the way to getting the right deal for you.

I'm actually strangely looking forward to getting a leaf. There are perhaps not the most exciting cars in the world, but I still quite like the idea of an electric car.

Hi Eddie,

Thanks so much for informing us of this deal! Thanks to your post I have also signed upto a Leaf Tekna, but on a 8K MPA. £2K deposit and circa £100 per month. Matt said he had a lot of interest from the forums! Delivery is expected within 3 weeks - can't wait!

Thanks once again, now to get the chargepoint fitted!

Ahh that was you then! Matt told me about your deal, but I'm after mettallic paint so it'll bump up the monthly figure or the deposit a tad.

Hope he said good things! Quickest deal he's ever done, gave him the deposit as I was walking into a meeting, the call was well under 5 mins!

Thanks to Eddie once again, the deal was already done, just adjusted mileage and deposit slightly.

I had similar deals to this offered to me about 3 weeks ago so if you have no joy with the OP suggestions try these other dealers that were keen to shift:

Ames Nissan Thetford - Will Harvey
RRG Nissan Bury - Scott
Nissan Southend on Sea - Dan

Made me chuckle. Nice one!

This kind of thing is what I love about internet. Like minded people sharing ideas and experiences. And when it works, it helps make life a little simpler smile

I have spoken to Ames Nissan (Will Harvey) so can vouch for him out of that list, if a second opinion helps.
