What sort of discount on V12VSR?
Discussion
I'm interested in a demo V12VSR, the car has about 700 miles on the odometer, is very heavily optioned with some Q options which although nice make the car quite expensive. They're offering me a 10% discount on the car. I think this is not enough as it would come out cheaper to spec a new car without these silly Q options. Furthermore the car is already dated as it hasn't got the new touch-sensitive Vanquish console (which I don't particularly like anyway but the fact is the car is not the latest version!). What do you think guys? What's the sort of discount I can reasonably expect?
I haven't test driven it yet, I may not like the Sportshift, but that's another question.

I think you are fairly uncharted grounds. At the peak of the recession brand new cars could be had for up to 25% off list potentially more on ex-demo/pre-reg, but times are different now and you are unlikely to get close to that.
At the end of the day you need to think what YOU are prepared to pay for the car, regardless of what discount you think you ought to be able to get, then haggle to that level and if you get it, buy it, if not walk...

the difficulty you face is what value you place on having a 2016MY car (which applies to new cars as of around now), with the vanquish dash that you correctly mention - one assumes less discount, but a higher resale value. Plus if you don't go for the Q options, may not work out any/much more expensive anyway
It's a difficult/marginal call I imagine

I would expect that on a car ordered to my specDo you like/want the Q stuff? If so, this car sounds like a good way to get that for a decent discount. If not, then why not order one to your specs?
As a demonstrator I think the comparison to pre owned prices is the best way to go to know whether you are getting a fair deal or not and thinking about whether the Q additions have any value to you. But first you need to try the car to see whether you like the transmission. My view drive it like a manual and you will be fine.
Thanks to all for your response! Discount comes out at 11.5% actually. Car has done 1,063 KM and hasn't been registered yet but used as a demo. Q options are: Blue brake calipers, blue satin carbon pack, Q badges, duotone seats, maltese blue leather, blue interior carbon pack. Looks nice but expensive and unnecessary option pack at €20.160 and that's without the other options such as B&O (which I do like!)! It has the Sports seats not the lightweights though but the fact they're heated might be a bonus in a Roadster.

Photos required as it sounds a little hideous!Edited by CSK1 on Saturday 15th August 17:33
Sorry but I have no photos, the car isn't being officially marketed yet. I saw the car at the dealer and no it is not hideous (would you put in doubt my impeccable taste? :-)). Car is lightning silver with a blue roof (Atlantic Blue Fast Track), I couldn't really see the seats were duo tone so this must be quite subtle and the maltese blue looks really nice (a Q colour which is a kind of dark blue) so the blue calipers work quite well, not so sure about the satin blue carbon pack but it is quite dark and matt satin blue. I actually quite like the whole combo. Maybe I haven't got such good taste after all!

sounds like way too much blue, and too many shades of itCSK1 said:
I'm planning to go and test drive it in September, will take some pictures then.
The closer we get to winter and low season, the better the discount may be.

I bought my car during September. During the negotiations, it became apparent that a better deal was available, if I paid before the month end. A third quarter sales target was the reason.
Perhaps the dealers will be under pressure again this September. Offer to pay in October, and see if the seller winces. -
