The wife's kangoo has a lot of oil in the water coolant bottle. Can't see any in creamy grunge in oil filler cap or dipstick though.
Could it be something other than the head gasket?

I am not familiar with this engine but it could be fitted with a coolant/oil heat exchanger. These have been known to leak internally allowing oil to enter the coolant or coolant to enter the oil. If there is one fitted it is usually behind the oil filter. I would not rule out the head gasket yet.

Thanks for the reply. I have now changed the oil cooler behind the oil filter. But I still have a tiny spot of oil going into the water bottle every 6 seconds or so.
Time to buy a workshop Manuel and get the head gasket changed I think!

Did you give the cooling system a good flush through after as there may well still be oil in the cooling system
I'd give it a good flush out with a system cleaner just to make sure before you have the head off

My son's Micra K12(the diesel version uses the same Renault 1.5 dci engine as the Kangoo) did this too. I put a bottle of K-seal in the coolant system and it has been fine for 6 months now.

Yes the engine is well flushed. It seems to enter the water bottle every 6 seconds or so. Only a very tiny blob each time but it mounts up. I may try the sealer though. Thanks folks.

Just to update. I used K seal and it seems to have cured it. I have run it now for a few weeks and all seems well.
Although on the K seal website it says it won't stop oil leaks but it seems to have done so!
