This is just up the road from me but not sure my standard LS7 would give a good enough showing for our brand.

I was thinking that but also thought it would be good to have a representation of different specs. I know mine with my power has the edge on a 650s despite only having 550ish hp.

But surely this is a good opportunity for the factory? I've not seen any performance results other than those claimed by the factory, so a great free advertising shot for them and also to back up their claims?

I think it's aimed at individuals rather than factory stuff.

It's only individual because the primadonnas at Ferrari and McLaren have fits about these sort of tests unless they can send teams down to optimise the cars, and then its behind closed doors anyway smile

That's my point (sort of), Ultima factory attends.

1. Wins the day, loads of speculation about the car being "factory tweaked" and supported.

2. loses to a turbocharged 4x4 Fiat Panda.

Lose / Lose either way.

ETS sorry if that sounds a tad cynical just can't see an up-side for the factory.

The Ferrari normally comes with a works team non-standard tyres and tweeked engine according to monkey Harris - so alls fair in love and war.

Not sure what a shoot out achieves. Modern cars are launch controlled. Timings very much depend on surface and drive train (so anything off perfect means the 4wd have instant advantages)

Ultima evolution does 0-60 in 2.3secs, 0-100 in 4.9secs and 0-150 in 8.9sec - you are unlikely to better or probably get near this times if not a pro.

More interested in factory's 0-300km (186) or 0-100-0 or 0-200 for comparison purposes.

Even better, a new topgear laptime or ring laptime for the GTR evolution.

So those figures are official and proven? Richard ?

I disagree with FC about a lose lose situation. Being "beaten" by a modified car is no big deal, there are loads of tuned Evos, skylines and porkers just to name 3 types that will easily out accelerate normal Ultimas.

If Richard turns up with an Evo and does 0-100 in sub 5 that will be a win in my opinion.

Mclaren quote 0-100 in 5.7 for a 650s and 6.1 for a 12c, I'd bet most owners cars can't do that - but it's still a quoted figure that people believe to a degree.

Well we were talking factory not "normal" so the argument still stands and if the factory wins or loses the same speculation applies. IMO of course.

Possibly yeah.

I just think it would be good for them to attend an event and show what the car can do in public and not behind closed doors.

A lot of owners of quick cars expect Ultimas to all have 700hp and they're surprised how fast one is with a genuine 550 (that's certainly been my experience after being on track with GTRs, Speciales, 650s and 12c's etc), so to see one go with 8-900 in public against other supercars would be great. IMO smile
