Does anybody know if a child's seat (the upright seats for +1 yr olds) will fit into an Elise seat then using the seatbelt to secure it (non ISO)?

Sorry, I probably should have said that it's an S2, Elise S if that makes any difference?

Most do not fit but some do. There's a page on the SELOC techwiki with a list of ones that people have tested.

I use a recaro young sport in my S1. It fits fine with the belt, handbrake is snug though!

Can't see the dimensions between an S1 and S2 differing too much.

I thought my Elise would be a bit loud for our 1 year old, however it seems just the job for getting her to sleep!

I've used mine since she was born, although only with the roof on until she was about one. Just looking to swap her into a group-1 seat now, I think we'll go for a Kiddy Phoenixfix since that can do both Isofix (for the wife's car) and belted (for mine).

I had a look for one for my 3 year old at the weekend. Didn't find anything I was happy with.

Yup, Recaro Monza fits nicely in an S1. Have used them in mine from 3yrs to 8 so far.

What year car... if its an elise S - sounds like it will be '08 or later... hence has a passenger airbag that you will not be able to disable...

I found car seats that fit my '08 SC .... but could;t disable the air bag...

A number of people have fitted passenger airbag disable switches to Elises. Eg http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f129/installed-pas...

Even if you're not happy doing it yourself, I'd imagine any competent auto-electrician could do it for you.

Hi - I looked into this but no one I'd trust would do it (lotus dealers , specialists) - so it was a DIY and just wasn't comfortable...

Elise went as a result but I'll be back!
