Was driving back from the shops on the main road when someone decided that they didn't recognise me as an existing car and pulled out into me. Tried to swerve out of it but was limited due to a van parked opposite the junction. Gutted, car was a mint 95 1.5 civic with just 29k on the clock. I wouldn't care if they'd done it to the z4, but the civic is irreplaceable. Insurance are writing it off but hopefully I can buy it back.

Sorry I don't know how to un-upsidedown the pictures.

You can see the guilty car behind the van, a bloody Jazz. As you can see it's an extremely poorly sighted junction. They still tried to claim I came out of nowhere and must have been going too fast. It's a good job I wasn't seeing as her three kids were unbuckled in the back.

Car has been recovered and I'm in mourning.

Fortunately the roof landed on a kangaroo and bounced back up.
Gutted but hoping I'll find something nice to replace it with, going to cost me as I'll get very little as a payment, they don't appreciate it's a classic. We'll see.

I've turned it right way up using my Paint skillz and also added something to make you feel better about the Jazz.

It's really unfortunate what has happened. The only crumb of comfort is perhaps you can now use it as an excuse to get the Civic even better or buy something new.

Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC ? All the rage apparently !

Chin up. Good luck.

Can someone put Chris Harris in there too?

In all seriousness, it's not a good day when you get pranged by someone else, so I hope the original poster got at least a slight smile out of our PH humour. We are on your side smile

Haha nice one, my first photochops! My pain has been relieved by my courtesy car. A diesel c4 picasso. I am now angry dad driver. Handles like a puddle of mud, but has a pokey engine and dab radio. The steering wheel has more buttons than the civic had in total.

Car hunting has begun. Staying with Jap, but going for bigger and practical. Estate legacy to look at tomorrow. Going with the 2.5, as much as I'd like a 3.0 spec B we can't justify the cost as we have the z4 for fastness. The second car is always a practical option. That's what I loved about the civic, it was like a tardis inside for such a small car.

Now to play the waiting game with the insurance.

Everyone at work was very sad today, been offered an 91 gen 4 with non running engine if I do buy it back so could still be living the dream. Will have to hide it work though as it'll be the second non runner in the household, had an Alfa 156 rotting in my work car park for three years now.

Email today stating the other insurance have admitted liability which is good to hear. Now waiting to hear what sort of offer I get. Ncb is safe and excess will be recovered, no idea what amount to expect though. 29k miles on a 20yr old 1.5 civic. I'm hoping they recognise what a classic it was.

Legacy I looked at on Saturday was a pup, couple more nearby to see but want to know the payout in case it gives me a few extra pennies to spend.
