Hello all

I'm sad to say that my R5 turbo 2 was stolen last night, from its storage unit near Darlington. Recent photo below:

The car was insured but I don't want the money - it took me 15 years to find this car. Any news/information that leads to the return of the car I will pay 5k pounds for.

Please share

Thanks

Sorry to hear, but you should not have to pay anybody £5k for info, any info should be given willingly.

Hope you get it back in one piece.

Thanks for comments guys

@Birma, yes I would not be surprised if it ended up in bits as they are not common.

@Monkeylegend, very true mate but this world is all about the dollar* now. People have their own lives to contend with & maybe can't give any time to a stranger's problems when they have their own stuff going on. Nice username btw

I'm sure you've thought about it, but who would have known its location?

Unless you took strangers to see it, I would've thought it's a relatively small group.

I hope you're successful in getting it back.

Very best of luck getting it back.

Saw an interesting White/ pink one go at Anglia auctions last week, they hold impressive values now.

Have you shared on facebook? Suggest you do, couple of groups should do. Make the car untouchable.

Fingers crossed.

I saw it on Facebook about five minutes before this post, so hopefully the news has spread.

Hope you get it back dude. Save the £5k reward for info and spend it on Some heavies to have a word with those who stole it.

Good luck in finding it,I'm sure it can't just vanish. Nearly bought one from Harrogate back in the 90's..Wish I had now,

That's awful OP, hope you have some good news on it soon. As others have said, I wouldn't have thought it's the easiest car to move on. Worth keeping an eye on European eBay sites and Mobile.de over the next while just in case? I imagine the car is worth considerably more in Germany/France/Italy/Netherlands

thanks for comments all, very much appreciated. Sad times indeed

@RobinBanks, thanks but it is a in a 'Rent a Ramp' type workshop - usually with a cover on it but the business is for sale so maybe the owner invited the ;wrong' people for a viewing smile

@MrMoonyMan, appreciate the comment sir. I have shared & people have shared for me. The more platforms that have this information, the less likely a sale will become as you say.

@epom, lol OK I will check down the back of the couch for any spare pennies for that sort of thing smile

@GrumpyTwig, thank you

Everybody else who took the time to post, thank you very much

If this can be shared as much as possible there is a better chance of getting it back.

Thank you again

st, I saw this on FB on a Swift group and realised I was at that very garage a while back. It's a bit more real when it's somewhere you know! Hope you find the car safe and sound.

The supercharged Swift and T2 were spotted last night at about 21:45, on the A66 (near McDonalds) heading towards Redcar
