Hi,

New to the forum so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

I will be heading to The Revival next week and have been invited into the corporate / sponsors area. Has anyone been here before?

I obviously know of the dress "code" surrounding The Revival, but I am wondering whether guests of the hospitality area still make the same amount of effort as General Admission guests.

The last thing I want to do is go all-out with my clothes and then look/feel like an idiot if the hospitality guests are simply wearing "normal" clothes. Likewise, I don't want to miss out of the fun of dressing up if this is still rife in the hospitality area.

Any advise would be welcomed...

Don't wear 'normal clothes'. You will feel like an idiot! I made that mistake at the first Revival in 1998 and I've not made it since. Dress for the sponsors area is the same as for the rest of Revival.

Hospitality is Smart, so jacket and tie.

Thanks - I think I will aim for something smart (ie jacket and tie), but with something of the era... (hat maybe)!?

The sponsors and their guests make a lot of effort to follow the dress code usually, as a courtesy. There's always one or two who stand out because they opt for logo'd clothing and end up missing out on the paddocks or borrowing jackets and ties. If you're a guest of a German company, you'd better buy lederhosen to go with your Bavarian hat!!!

Thanks, again, guys.

For once, I think it is the ladies who have it easier with the dress-code (although any women on here would probably disagree!).

The next question is the weather - if it is as hot as the Festival of Speed earlier this year then there are going to be a lot of uncomfortable guys in their big heavy jackets!

I've just received my sponsor's guest package and it says:

".............. however a jacket and tie or cravat are necessary to enter the Padock areas ,
if required our provided (sponsor's name) period mechanics racing overalls with a period shirt and tie and a leather belt will suffice".

I gave up going in heavy tweed jackets and hats etc. (I hate hats!) years ago and for the last four years I've just gone in white Castrol overalls, I've never had a problem getting into the paddocks dressed that way.

Not in the tiny envelope that came in the post silly
but the enclosed blurb reads as if they will supply them ( on loan???)
once you get to them.

My own view is that overalls are very suitable for the paddock but
a smart suit or jacket and tie would be more appropriate for the hospitality
Champagne reception and lunch etc. smile.

I will go prepared for all eventualities biggrin.
