Brands Hatch Sunday Service 20/09

A Sunday Service special at Brands alongside the Revolve24 cycle race!

Once described as "the best circuit in the world" by Gerhard Berger and first used as a motorcycle circuit on the surrounding farmland, Brands Hatch plays host to our next Sunday Service on September 20.

We will be celebrating the two-wheeled theme in fact with the Sunday Service taking place alongside the Revolve24 cycle race, which takes place over the course of the weekend in support of Breast Cancer Care.

This unique event offers a very special opportunity to ride the superb 2.3-mile Grand Prix circuit as part of either the 24-hour, 12-hour or six-hour race; don't feel you have to be Bradley Wiggins to take part either, as the event is open to cyclists of all abilities and can be entered individually or as part of a team.

We have even managed to secure a 15 per cent discount for PHers who feel they are up to the challenge in either the six- or 24-hour race. Just like Le Mans, right? Simply enter 'BRANDS15' at the race package checkout.

We know there has been demand for a larger meet so we have managed to secure an area for 500 cars. This will be in the lower paddock situated close to the Hailwood cafe where refreshments will be available throughout the morning with exclusive access to the grandstand adjacent to the track. Entry will be from 0930h so you can have a little lie-in this time. We look forward to seeing you!

UPDATE: On the day, there will also be the opportunity to bring that old bike which is gathering dust in the garage or shed to donate to charity, as a Salvation Army sponsored initiative called 'Recycles' will be on site over the course of the weekend collecting any unwanted bikes.

So far we've a four-man 24 hour team, a solo 24 hour rider and two solo 6 hour riders competing.

Look forward to seeing you all, but couldn`t we have spelt Hailwoods correctly, surely any PistonHead would know it was named after a legend on 2 and 4 wheels and not a Mersey car factory?

Cycling (albeit for a good cause) and no car interest other than wondering round a car park? Sorry chap, not "proper" IMO.

09.30 at Brands Hatch - a lie-in. Not everyone lives in the South East.

With a cycle race.

It's a car forum, why would I want to watch cyclists?

you could
a) acknowledge that PH has active sub-forums full of petrol heads who also have other hobbies
b) have 500 PH worthy cars and their owners to interact with over bacon and coffee.

Yep.

Guess it's good we don't all like the same thing.

I won't be cycling, but seeing as I'm actually off for once when there's an event I want to attend I think I'd best make the effort!

On the RR if the weather plays ball.
