C'mon, I had to start one.

Let me bask in the glory until Sunday when we lose to Israel. Then you can laugh soundly at me.

I'm really pleased to see Wales doing well and I read a piece on the BBC website which talked about how you've done that. It basically said that the qualifying group was important and you've had some cracking results, but a lack of friendlies has also made an impact. Hope you win on Sunday!!

I'm pleased Wales are doing well too.

You have/have had some great players denied the opportunity to grace the World stage before - hopefully they'll get a bash now.

Everyone is shocked that Wales are above England. I'm shocked that they weren't already!

Stands to reason. England have only won all of their qualifying matches. They were bound to slide down the ranks.

hehe

The quality of the opposition you beat is a factor in the rankings. England's stunning wins against Vatican City and Kaliningrad don't count for much.

Very much this. We've been pretty cute regarding friendlies so we could get into the top pot for the world cup draw. Up yours FIFA!

Anyway, if we win on Sunday we'll go 4th in the rankings. And, if other results go our way, we'll go 2nd. Un-bloody-believable.

I know FIFA rankings are basically bks (we were 117th a year or so ago) but I'm finding this utterly hilarious!

Thanks for your kind wishes too. Looks like Wales, England, Norn Ireland and maybe the Republic will all be in France next year!

This would be great given the influx of players to the premier league and the relative paucity of chances for home nation players compared with 30 years ago
