.... for mounting the expansion tank on.

Had Samy's original swirlpot blasted and its still very solid - despite what it looked like - so have decided to spray it and fit it to the Reserve S ahead of the Tour de FranSe.

Going to relocate the expansion tank at the same time on to a bracket next to the swirlpot. Do people think that 1.5mm thick stainless sheet is thick enough or shall I go 2mm?

Cheers.

Go thicker if you can; why take the chance?

Made a stainless angle bracket for mine one leg of which sits under the battery which holds it in place. Made it in 1mm stainless with stiffening ribs pressed in.

I'd say it depends on the design of your bracket?

Stainless is a "pain" to bend and drill so the thinner you can keep it the easier to make, or are you having it made by someone with all the right gear?

I'll make a card template over the weekend and post a picture. Thinking of bent sides and top rail. Sides extend down over the chassis rail to m5 fixings (4no). An unfixed foot to be bent in too.
