I can only speak for my setup, but the Thrustmaster TX wheel with T3PA pedals, TH8A shifter and the 458 Challenge wheel is more than enough for me. Every review I've seen puts the base unit right up there with the very best wheel bases, and I can well believe it.

Personally, and obviously budget dependant, I wouldn't look at anything else. Even without the extra bits, the standard TX wheel is an incredible piece of kit. smile

That's the force feedback one and not the rubber band one I take it?

I use the mad catz wheel and pedals. Works great and had for a couple of years. Just done the forza 6 demo with it and was superb. Never used any of the others mind, but not felt the need to change.

It is, yeah. The rubber band one wasn't out when I made my purchase, but I think I'd still have gone for the decent one anyway. That said, if you can try the rubber one and are happy with it, then why bother spending more? I guess that trying before you buy is awkward with these, but you could always send it back if you're not happy with it.

If money's no object, get one of the new Xbox One-compatible Fanatecs. The Thrustmaster TX is much cheaper and the wheel is almost as good. The Mad Catz wheel is not very good. I have heard on the street that the new Logitech G920 is not quite as good as the Thrustmaster. I will report back when I set it up this weekend.

Hi Jonboy did you sort your wheel to give a review, I have been looking on the internet and I think it's probably going to be the TX it is always rated highly

I have a TX, very impressed with it - The FFB is a huge step up form my old official Xbox wheel on the 360!

I'm having the same predicament but leaning towards the Logitech offering going by the number of reviews of the Thrustmaster burning out. Coming with the clutch pedal is a bonus too.

I set it up last night because the TX died on me! It's not bad at all. The standard pedals are better than the ones with the TX, and better than the 3-pedal set you can buy for the thrustmaster as an extra. Feedback is a bit stronger from the TX than the G920, but so far no complaints beyond having to alter my muscle memory for the buttons.
