Anyone privy to this kind of data and when the first 991 GTS's were registered?

Looking at 'how many left', it doesn't appear many have been registered even if I'm unclear in which quarter would apply to the 991, not the 997.

Even if you take all of 2014 and 2015 (to end of March) registered cars, there have only been 20 manuals and 137 pdk's (carrera 2, not 4). Is that ratio correct?

(considering a manual GTS to get me by until GT3/4 prices settle!)

I really want a PDK 991 GTS coupe if they come down a bit over the next few years, so glad to see PDK is more common.

Last I heard there were no more specable slots left. Best every day car I've owned.

So I guess no one knows the figures, or roughly what they might be on production numbers then? The 'manuals' seem thinner on the ground than I thought!

The 991 GTS is truly epic - perhaps the best sounding engine I've ever heard and super fast from A to B/
I see JZM have a 2015 year one for sale- great spec and about 16 grand off new on the road price-
a good buy for someone ......

Obviously the transmission preference is completely subjective but having driven a 991 GTS with PDK I would not even consider a manual- it's just sublime to drive......I have to concede that I was always previously a die hard manual fan- until I experienced the PDK....on twisty country roads it's just a joy to use- so smooth and fast there feels no argument against it.

In couple of weeks the DVLA will update figures to end of 2nd qtr 2015 so will have a better idea of numbers registered/sold new to 30th June 2015.

Personally, I don't think it's that PDK is so good, it's that the manual isn't as good as we would have expected from Porsche.

WRT to numbers, the GTS will be a normal run-out production model, so it may never be possible to know exactly how many were built. DVLA records are very unreliable.

It's a pretty good guide and more accurate on specific models ie SPYDER, gt3 , GTS etc where there is no cross over model years!

I disagree, 99% of 911 buyers have no interest in manuals. My OPC doesn't even know why they bother anymore, they can't remember the last time somebody ordered a manual 911.

Even on PH it seems to be split 50/50 between PDK and manual. And we are the car enthusiasts.

Its true, manuals sit at dealers for ages unsold in most cases, they hate having them in.
theres a white manual GTS 991 in Cardiff OPC now if you want one…

I think that the manual GTS could be a good buy in terms of head and heart as it'll represent the last normally aspirated manual 911 made…
Even if it doesn't appreciate for a while, it'll hold its value very well indeed. The PDK is awesome, much better than the PDK I have in my Cayman R which is good but feels old now in comparison / no blips on downshift etc.

I'm thinking GTS too… question is manual or PDK - I am torn!

The 991 GTS feels light years ahead of any 997 or previous 911 I've driven- you won't be disappointed if you pull the trigger and get one- they have staggering cornering ability and feel like they are carved out of stone.

I would not be concerned about the forthcoming 991.2 models- the new standard Carrera S is going to be about £90k -by the time you have added all the necessary optional extras you will be looking at 100k on the road no sweat....
by comparison the current GTS like the one at JZM at 89k looks better value long term- far fewer 991 GTS on the road than standard Carrera S models and of course you get the 430bhp 3.8lt NA engine......

I have 991 c2 gts manual. My dealer told me less than 50 manual gts across all derivatives.

I have a carmine red manual, 2wd GTS with ceramic brakes and ducktail. Quite rare I think. Fantastic car.
