So in my never ending dilemma on what car to get next....(& to complete the picture - gone from spending ~50k on a 997.1 Turbo (that seems to be a very tough feat) to a BMW 1 M (~40k) to BMW e90 M3 (~20-25k), I am now toying with the idea of a 997.1 2S (or possibly a 4S) - looking to spend about 20-25k on the base car with about 5-10k for some tasteful upgrades & maybe modernising the car a little.....

Then I came across RPM Tecknik's CSR - would this be an easier option?

Anyone have one of these or have a view?

You won't get a 997.1 4S for 20-25K - that is firmly in decent 996 territory and a good one will be at the top end of your figure.

A 2S is more than achievable but I have concluded after months researching that a 996 c4S is the way to go

All the best whatever you end up with.

Did you buy one of the two you looked at today?

Lower end of the price scale cars are out there but as with all of the cheapest buys they very rarely are the best buys. They`re cheap for a reason. Potential wallet bombs is what I`m thinking.

Best of luck.

So, what do you reckon fair value for a decent 997.1 c2S would be? And any views on the CSR?

Buy a 2005 C2S for £21-23k with 60-80k miles, buy on condition, not mileage.

Worth factoring in the possibility of an engine IMO, even if it's only a 5% chance. Then build a bespoke car adding the parts you like. Just adding the CSR ducktail would set the car apart from regular 911's if done well (needs to be painted the same as the car, unlike this left in carbon weave).
