I'm in the market for a rolling shell to build into a classic racer. Does anyone know of anywhere good start the search?

I know racecarsdirect has some nice stuff but they're all pretty much together and built. Is ebay an option for this kind of thing?

Car wise I'm pretty open but generally speaking looking for:

Cortina
Alfa 105
Opel Ascona
Jag Mk2
Merc 300
BMW 1502/16/2002 etc

Basically early European touring car type stuff.

Any tips much appreciated. Don't really need engine etc as it'll all be replaced.

Ebay will have the most, but the carandclassic website will have projects for sale.

Retro Rides often has a few good/interesting cars and you could also try the various owners forums as well.

Ben, a MKII would be the way to go...most likely more shells available, similarly spare parts and good engines for rebuild too. Here are some available for what seems like sensible pricing

The newsnow website is often a good catchall website for car searches...

If you are wanting an Alfa 105 then for a "as new" bodyshell this is the best option:

or you could try Adam at http://www.velocesport.co.uk or www.alfaholics.com

You would need a doner car though for the Classic Alfa Bodyshells. So many other bits to source and buy if you don't. Great way of starting a project though and ultimately not much more expensive either.
