steering wheel

I am looking for a steering wheel to do away with the awful crash pad on my 88. The later esprit wheel is very expensive. There are several elan m100 wheels around which are not too bad looks wise and obviously I'd be sticking with lotus. Will they go straight on? I've seen several references to hub conversion kits that mention both elan and esprit so I am presuming they have the same hubs.
