Discussion
I'm hearing and reading more and more reports that Porsche is preparing a "sendoff special" the 991.1.
Naturally aspirated 4.0L 480 PS, manual, lightweight, puristic interior, truly limited production, very expensive. A reliable higher up source at my OPC told me that some 918 owners have already put their word in.
Does anybody know more? I doubt we will see it at the IAA.

Ordered one about three weeks ago - ordered as a 991 RS (again) with an option to change to the "R" model should it emerge... My OPC has already loads of orders and even more LOIs in for that car...
I don't know any more as is discussed here & on the net, rumor has apparently settled for 600 cars only but I'd doubt that very much.

No - no build slot spec or anything. Just a formal plain order for an RS with an appendix containing the "R" model.
Ah right, assume you are in Germany? Doesn't seem to be the same demand as the UK which sold out a long time ago. If this isn't correct and you have a UK spec car, drop me a message.noneedtolift said:
Yes, correct this is in Germany. GT3 RS sold out here as well, allocations now being done by Porsche themselves rather than the dealers.
Hmmm, wonder if the same is being offered in the UK. I assume you have some kind of link to Porsche to allow this, most likely through the number of GT cars you have, racing etc.Plot thickens, seems more likely that it will be a 991.2

The rumours I have heard suggest a lightweight, driver focussed, manual gearbox, narrow body (and narrow tyred [by modern standards]) car.
