Which days are best as a member of the public looking to try and hopefully purchase a helmet and race wear?
i.e, not sure if that fits into the trade only or business days?

Thanks.

Demontweeks and GPR are the two biggest racewear stands and both offer great discounts at Autosport. They will bring lots of stock with them (particularly Demontweeks) but of course you are best off going as early as possible to get the best selection.

In my experience the service GPR offer is far better than DT - (DT are more of a supermarket and offer a load more parts) but DT is usually a little cheaper.

I bought my helmet and walero fireproof underwear at autosport last two years from GPR - I have always gone on trade days, I can imagine public days will be super busy if you leave it late so get in there early before everyone decides they want a 'souvenir!' Both times I got over 20% off retail.

Good Luck!

Excellent, will take your advice and go on one of the trade days, thanks Lucadiella!

Get your MSA competition licence and go on the Friday, Cannot be arsed with the crowds at the weekend, quite civilised on the friday in comparison. If you have your licence you can go on the trade day.

Echo that GPR are better than Demon Tweeks.

Don't be afraid to shop around though, as there will be a lot of suppliers and manufacturers that you can talk to.

Use Demon Tweeks and GPR to try stuff on and get the sizes perfect, then see where you get the best price ..... perhaps have an idea of what the best price is and challenge them to match when you're trying it on.

Trade days are better for stuff like that, however I've been disappointed with the deteriorating standard of Autosport over the last few years. Less motorsport, and more tuning / "boy racer" stuff.

I suggest you go to Race Retro in February instead. It's a better show and if you go on the Friday there are far fewer crowds than Autosport and far more to see.

DT will be there with a smallish stand but so will other race wear retailers that will be far cheaper such as"Plays Kool" and Max Tyler's race wear company.

Visiting Autosport is a bloody expensive way to look for a helmet, and at £38 a ticket or whatever it was last year I won't be going back there anymore.

Just too much greed at the NEC these days, I almost forgot the outrageous parking charges there as well.
