Watched the evo video of the boxster spider and I was curious if a gt4 version of the boxster was on the cards. A boxster with even more attitude would be a win win I think.

Porsche wouldnt put a GT4 badge on a Boxster, its confusing marketing.

Put down your money where? There's no chance a dealer will take a deposit on a car that doesn't exist.

The difference being that Porsche have a history of producing 911 GT2's. There is no history of a Spyder GT4. Even still, dealers are not meant to take deposits on cars before announcement/release, according to Porsche GB.

(notice you've put down £1k; I suspect that is more a gesture than a deposit, which would be £10k on that car).

Can't see a 'gt4' version coming personally.

I would have thought if it was going to happen they would have been twins at launch, just different bodywork, like the 987 Spyder/CR.

These are set apart quite deliberately, but let's face it, the differences aren't exactly that huge underneath. Maybe if a Gt4 RS came along there could be room created for a harder Spyder, but even then I'm doubtful how it would be presented or fit into the range.

Perhaps the more immediate question is whether they will have any NA boxsters (Spyder) in future. The dealer I spoke to today seemed to think that the Spyder was the "last of the dirty ones" (his words).
