2nd Passport Application

Has anyone had any experience applying for a second passport while overseas?

I am travelling more often and finding it extremely tight in obtaining the Visas in the passport while I am overseas.

for your first time application for a second passport your primary one has to be sent with the forms, so be aware that you wont be able to travel during this time.

haven't done it whilst out of the uk, too much of a risk for me so did it on a one day service from durham.

Is having a 2nd passport in the UAE of any use? The reason being that if you wish to apply for a visa at a embassy / consulate then the passport has to have your UAE residence visa in it, or has this changed? I wouldn't want to travel out / into the UAE on a second passport especially if the e-gate system is not working.

No my main passport will always be used to travel to/from UAE

But when applying for Visas etc i still need to travel out of the UAE for other trips. So leaving the second passport at the embassy would be very useful for the visa application.

Please do let us now how you get on when applying for visa's in the UAE with your 2nd passport that doesn't in it.
