R50 - Adding a centre armrest

Ok so.. I'm looking to add a centre armrest to my new mini, however most of the aftermarket solutions seem to involve screwing holes into the plastics... which is very much a last-resort in my book!

However there seems to be an official aftermarket armrest:

...which bolts to the car using the existing seating bolts, which is ideal. However the one in the link says it is for the Gen2 models only (R56 etc)... and mine is an R50.


Except I have also seen references to a very (very) similar (if not identical?) version, which is listed as being for the R50/R53.

So... does anyone know if it is actually the same unit? Or if the R56 version still fits the older cars?

I can't find anywhere in the UK that seems to stock the R50 version of it, and the only ones I can find on eBay are ones which seem to require a load of extra trim pieces (I think because it's a full retrofit of the factory armrest, instead of the genuine aftermarket add-on?)
