Hi all.I have just got a 03 cooper s, The orange brake warning light came on so i have changed the front pads ,the rear had just been changed, but the warning light is still on is there a way to take this off. Also there is a wind whistling noise when car gets to 70 mph sounds like its coming from air vents. I have been told this is a common fault

Not sure if this applies to the pre-facelift, but to save having to disconnect the battery, switch the ignition on and leave for 30 seconds whereupon the warning light will go out (if all OK).

Worked on my '05 JCW smile

They brake wear sensors are sacrificial - once they're on, they're on until replaced.

Cut the sensor off, solder the wires together and tie out of the way. Just keep an eye on your pads the old fashioned way.

You need to reset the fault code with a fault code reader.

Plug it into the socket under the dash and follow the instructions on the screen.

I just use a cheap one (€20 ish) and it does the job just fine.
